A Man with a Plan

Thomas was a man with a plan…well, maybe not, but he went along with whatever we suggested. We had so much fun with him; his sense of humor and contagious smile made his session fly by. It’s always so much fun when we just go with the flow.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s great when our senior’s come with plans and ideas….but sometimes things just evolve. We start chatting and getting to know each other and then boom…. poses just happen. We hear it all the time, “you want me to stand how?”. Our answer is usually, “Yes, trust us”. It’s always so much fun at the viewing session when families are surprised with the finished image. We have done numerous classes on posing and it still gets us sometimes too. It’s amazing how moving a shoulder, sticking the chin out or turning hips can create the perfect picture. Your aunt gives you a beautiful dress for Christmas. She tells you how it’s perfect for you, like it was made for you. Fast forward to senior picture time. The dress becomes one of your four outfits. Not only does Schuyler look stunning in her dress, but she has a story and a memory of how the dress came to be.

When picking outfits for you Senior pictures, pick outfits that are “you”. Wear things you would normally wear. If you have an outfit, a piece of jewelry or a prop that has sentimental value…let us know so we can highlight it. We love when a picture tells a story.

Personality Plus

Personality….plus so much more…. was the theme of Megan’s photo session. We had so much fun with Megan; she brought so much energy to her senior shoot. From the moment we met, we knew we were in for a fun evening. We absolutely love when our seniors share stories from their lives….. like why Megan is holding the bottom section of her flute. Gotta love a good story!

She had so many ideas for her session….. there is nothing better than when our senior says “can we try this?” If you have read our blog, you know we are pretty much up for anything…as long as it’s not against the law or we don’t end up in the ER. Our goal is to make your senior photo session “an experience”. Sure we know you need pictures for family, friends and the yearbook…but more importantly it’s the memories made. It’s two hours where you are the star….where your personality shines and memories are made.

You do You

You do You is the theme this season. We can’t stress enough to stay true to who you are. Your senior pictures are about YOU. It’s a way to document this time in your life. When you look back at your pictures, we want you to be able to say, “I remember that t-shirt, I wore it all the time”…..you get what we are saying.

Senior pictures have come a long way since I had them done. I had two backgrounds that were painted on a screen. My choice was the “realistic” fall leaves and the standard gray. I wore a lovely sailor top with the fall scene, to say it did not go together is an understatement. It’s so exciting to see the creativity and individuality that comes through in the pictures of all our seniors. Remember..YOU BE YOU!!!

Hair, Nails and Makeup/Rochester MN

Hair, nails and makeup can make all the difference in your senior pictures. From her manicured nails to her flawless makeup, Taylor looked absolutely lovely. Her makeup was done so perfectly that it did not distract from her natural beauty.

We encourage our senior girls to bring lip color, be it lipstick or lip gloss to add pop to their pictures. When applying mascara, remember less is more. Another good tip is to bring a brush and hairspray to control any fly away’s. Even if you don’t get a professional mani/pedi make sure if you have nail polish on, it is not chipped. Our goal is to highlight your natural beauty; makeup just enhances it.

If you are not a make up kind of gal, don’t feel the need to purchase an expensive bag full of goodies. A simple lip gloss or lip color and face powder will do the trick, after all…..we want you to be you!!!
